1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to the One Loud Voice for Women (1LV) Thrive Community. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership and participation in the Thrive Community and use of our services.
By joining the Thrive Community, registering for our services, or using our platforms, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules we may publish from time to time.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not join the Thrive Community or use our services.
2. About One Loud Voice for Women
One Loud Voice for Women (1LV) is a registered charity in England and Wales dedicated to advancing gender equity by empowering women in the “sticky middle” of their careers.

3. Definitions
In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

“1LV,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to One Loud Voice for Women

“Thrive Community” refers to our membership community hosted on the Circle platform

“Member” or “you” refers to an individual who has joined the Thrive Community
-
“Services” refers to all services, content, events, and resources provided by 1LV, including webinars, masterclasses, coaching, assessment tools, and community access

“Platform” refers to the Circle platform and any other technology platforms we use to deliver our Services
-
“Content” refers to all materials, information, resources, and intellectual property provided by 1LV
4. Eligibility and Membership
4.1 Eligibility
Membership in the Thrive Community is open to: - Mid-career women (typically with 6–20 years of work experience) - Individuals joining via an organisation or women’s network partnership - Individuals who are 18 years of age or older
4.2 Membership Application
To join the Thrive Community, you must: - Complete the membership application form (Stage 1) - Provide accurate, complete, and current information - Pay the applicable membership fee - Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
4.3 Membership Approval
We reserve the right to accept or decline membership applications at our discretion. We may decline applications that do not meet our eligibility criteria or that we believe may be disruptive to the community.
4.4 Membership Types and Fees
Individual Membership: - Annual membership: £129 per year - Monthly membership: £15 per month
Organisation/Network Partnership: - Annual partnership fee: £295 per year (for organisations and women’s networks)
Membership fees are subject to change. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice of any fee increases for existing members.
4.5 Payment

Membership fees are payable in advance by credit card, debit card, or other payment methods we accept

Payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe

By providing payment information, you authorise us to charge the applicable membership fee and any applicable taxes

For monthly memberships, you authorise recurring monthly charges until you cancel your membership
4.6 Refunds

Annual memberships: If you cancel within 14 days of joining and have not accessed any Services, you may request a full refund

Monthly memberships: No refunds are provided for partial months

After the 14-day period, membership fees are non-refundable, except at our discretion in exceptional circumstances
4.7 Membership Renewal

Annual memberships: Automatically renew each year unless you cancel before the renewal date

Monthly memberships: Automatically renew each month unless you cancel

We will send you a reminder before your annual membership renews

You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is current

The specific Services available may vary and are subject to change. We will make reasonable efforts to notify members of significant changes to Services.
6. Your Obligations as a Member
As a member of the Thrive Community, you agree to:
6.1 Provide Accurate Information

Provide accurate, complete, and current information in your membership application and profile

Update your information promptly if it changes

Not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
6.2 Maintain Account Security

Keep your login credentials confidential and secure

Not share your account with others

Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
6.3 Respect Community Standards
You agree to: - Treat all members, staff, volunteers, and guests with respect, dignity, and professionalism - Foster an inclusive, supportive, and safe community environment - Respect the confidentiality and privacy of other members - Not engage in harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour of any kind - Not share confidential or sensitive information disclosed by other members outside the community - Not use the community for commercial solicitation or self-promotion without prior approval from 1LV
6.4 Appropriate Use of the Platform
You agree to: - Use the Platform and Services only for lawful purposes - Not post, share, or transmit any content that is: - Defamatory, offensive, abusive, threatening, or harassing - Discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic - Obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit - Infringing on intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights - Containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code - Spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotional material (unless authorised by 1LV) - Not disrupt or interfere with the Platform or Services - Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or Services
6.5 Workplace Disputes and Confidentiality
You agree to: - Not use the membership application forms, member profiles, or community spaces to share detailed information about ongoing or past employment disputes, grievances, legal cases, or to name individual managers or colleagues - Seek appropriate professional advice (such as from employment lawyers or HR professionals) for specific workplace disputes - Use peer support groups and coaching services in a way that respects confidentiality and avoids identifying specific individuals or organisations - Contact 1LV directly at info@oneloudvoice.co.uk if you need guidance on workplace difficulties
6.6 Intellectual Property
You agree to: - Respect the intellectual property rights of 1LV and other members - Not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from 1LV Content without prior written permission - Not use 1LV’s name, logo, or branding without prior written permission
6.7 Participation in Research and Surveys
You may be invited to participate in research, surveys, or impact measurement activities. Participation is voluntary, and you may decline at any time. If you participate, you agree that: - Your responses may be used in aggregated, anonymised form for research, advocacy, and reporting purposes - 1LV may publish research findings and insights based on aggregated data
6.8 Compliance with Laws
You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your use of the Platform and Services.
7. Our Obligations and Commitments
1LV is committed to providing high-quality services and a supportive community. We will:
7.1 Deliver Services

Make reasonable efforts to deliver the Services described in these Terms

Provide access to the Thrive Community and Platform

Organise and deliver webinars, masterclasses, and other events as scheduled (subject to availability and circumstances beyond our control)
7.2 Maintain the Platform

Make reasonable efforts to ensure the Platform is available and functional

Perform necessary maintenance, updates, and improvements (which may result in temporary unavailability)
7.3 Protect Your Privacy

Handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law

Implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information
7.4 Foster a Safe Community

Establish and enforce community standards and guidelines

Investigate and address reports of inappropriate behaviour or violations of these Terms

Take appropriate action, including warnings, suspension, or termination of membership, for violations
7.5 Communicate with You

Provide regular updates, newsletters, and information about events and opportunities

Respond to your enquiries and requests in a timely manner

Notify you of significant changes to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, or our Services

8. Data Protection and GDPR Consent
8.1 Data Protection Commitment
1LV is committed to protecting your personal information and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
8.2 How We Use Your Personal Information
By joining the Thrive Community, you acknowledge that we will collect, use, and process your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including: - Managing your membership and providing Services - Facilitating connections and networking within the community - Delivering personalised content and recommendations - Conducting research and measuring impact - Communicating with you about our work, events, and opportunities - Complying with legal and regulatory requirements
8.3 Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal information based on the following legal bases: - Contract: To fulfil our obligations under your membership agreement - Consent: Where you have given explicit consent (e.g., for newsletters, optional profile information, or research participation) - Legitimate interests: To deliver our charitable mission, improve our services, and conduct research and advocacy - Legal obligation: To comply with charity law, financial regulations, and other legal requirements
8.4 Consent for Communications
By joining the Thrive Community, you consent to receive: - Essential membership communications: Information about your membership, account, and Services (you cannot opt out of these while you remain a member) - Community updates and event invitations: Information about webinars, masterclasses, events, and community activities
You may also choose to opt in to: - Newsletters and general updates: Information about 1LV’s work, campaigns, research, and ways to support the charity - Research and surveys: Invitations to participate in research and impact measurement activities
You can update your communication preferences at any time by: - Logging into your member profile on the Circle platform - Using the unsubscribe link in our emails - Contacting us at info@oneloudvoice.co.uk
8.5 Sharing Your Information
We will share your personal information only as described in our Privacy Policy, including: - Within the Thrive Community: Your public-facing profile information (which you control) is visible to other members - With service providers: We share information with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., Circle, Stripe, Zoom, Mailchimp) who help us deliver our Services - With partner organisations: If you join via an organisation or network partnership, we may share relevant information with that organisation - As required by law: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others
8.6 Your Data Protection Rights

9. Intellectual Property Rights
9.1 1LV’s Intellectual Property
All Content, materials, resources, and intellectual property provided by 1LV, including but not limited to: - Webinars, masterclasses, and recorded sessions - Assessment tools and reports - White papers, research, and publications - Website content and Platform features - 1LV’s name, logo, and branding are owned by 1LV or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9.2 Limited Licence
As a member, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Content and Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not: - Reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Content without prior written permission - Use the Content for commercial purposes - Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices - Share your login credentials or allow others to access the Platform using your account
9.3 Member-Generated Content
When you post, share, or submit content to the Platform (e.g., in community discussions, profiles, or surveys), you: - Retain ownership of your content - Grant 1LV a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, and publish your content for the purposes of operating the Platform, delivering Services, and conducting research and advocacy (in aggregated, anonymised form where appropriate) - Represent and warrant that you have the right to share the content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights
9.4 Feedback and Suggestions
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas to 1LV, you grant us the right to use, modify, and incorporate them into our Services without any obligation to compensate you.
10. Cancellation and Termination
10.1 Cancellation by You
You may cancel your membership at any time by: - Logging into your account on the Circle platform and following the cancellation process - Contacting us at info@oneloudvoice.co.uk
Cancellation terms:
- Annual memberships: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current membership year. No refunds are provided for the remaining period, except within the 14-day cooling-off period (see Section 4.6)
- Monthly memberships: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing month. You will not be charged for subsequent months
Upon cancellation, you will lose access to the Platform and Services at the end of your membership period.
10.2 Termination by 1LV
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your membership immediately, without refund, if: - You breach these Terms or our community standards - You engage in behaviour that is harmful, disruptive, or inappropriate - You provide false or misleading information - You use the Platform or Services for unlawful purposes - We believe your membership poses a risk to 1LV, other members, or third parties
Before terminating your membership, we will typically provide a warning and an opportunity to remedy the breach, unless immediate termination is necessary to protect the community or comply with legal obligations.
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination or cancellation of your membership: - Your access to the Platform and Services will be revoked - Your public-facing profile will be removed from the member directory - We will retain your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and data retention schedule - You remain responsible for any outstanding fees or obligations incurred before termination
11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
11.1 No Professional Advice
The Services, Content, and information, including coaching, mentoring, peer-support groups, webinars and events, provided by 1LV are for general informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute: - Legal, financial, tax, or professional advice - Employment advice or representation in workplace disputes - Medical or mental health advice - Guaranteed career outcomes or job placements
You should seek appropriate professional advice for specific legal, financial, employment, or health matters.
11.2 No Guarantees
While we strive to provide high-quality Services, we do not guarantee: - Specific career outcomes, promotions, or salary increases - That the Services will meet your individual needs or expectations - That the Platform will be available at all times or free from errors or interruptions - That any content or advice provided by other members is accurate or reliable
11.3 Third-Party Content and Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or content. We are not responsible for: - The accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of third-party content - The privacy practices or terms of third-party websites - Any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party websites or services
11.4 Member Interactions
1LV is not responsible for: - The conduct, advice, or content shared by other members - Disputes or conflicts between members - Any loss or damage arising from your interactions with other members
You are responsible for your own interactions and should exercise caution and good judgement when sharing personal information or engaging with other members.
11.5 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1LV, its trustees, employees, volunteers, and partners shall not be liable for any: - Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages - Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities - Personal injury or emotional distress (except where caused by our negligence) - Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform or Services
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your membership or use of the Services shall not exceed the amount of membership fees you have paid to 1LV in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11.6 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: - Death or personal injury caused by our negligence - Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation - Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 1LV, its trustees, employees, volunteers, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: - Your breach of these Terms - Your violation of any law or regulation - Your violation of the rights of any third party - Your use of the Platform or Services - Content you post or share on the Platform
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by: - Posting the updated Terms on our website and Platform with a new “Last updated” date - Sending an email to members - Displaying a prominent notice on the Platform
Your continued use of the Platform or Services after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel your membership as described in Section 10.1.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional guidelines or rules we publish, constitute the entire agreement between you and 1LV regarding your membership and use of the Services.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your membership or these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms to a successor organisation or entity.
14.5 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: - Natural disasters, pandemics, or public health emergencies - War, terrorism, or civil unrest - Government actions or regulations - Strikes or labour disputes - Failures of third-party service providers or technology platforms
14.6 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your membership shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14.7 Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at info@oneloudvoice.co.uk. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute, you may pursue legal remedies in accordance with Section 14.6.
