Shaping the future of gender equality: Become a 1LV trustee

We are looking for two new trustees to lead the One Loud Voice financial and marketing functions


In the dynamic landscape of modern workplaces, the call for gender equality and diversity has never been more urgent. One Loud Voice (1LV) is more than a charity: we're a catalyst for change; we are dedicated to reshaping workplaces into modern day cultures of equality and opportunity. Our mission is to elevate women's roles in the workforce and create an environment where gender equality is the norm, not the aspiration.


In the past year, 1LV has reached a pivotal milestone by welcoming a new Chair and agreeing an ambitious strategy to our mission. Recently we launched our flagship WE+Measure, a unique gender benchmark that brings together best practice within one framework. We're now looking to expand our trustee board further by inviting two passionate and dedicated individuals to join us as trustee leads for our financial and marketing functions.


The Role of a Trustee

A 1LV Trustee is at the heart of a transformative movement. The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating closely with the Chair to lead and guide the Board.

  • Ensuring robust governance, financial controls and compliance across the charity.

  • Working with management to deliver the agreed strategy.  

  • Embracing inclusive leadership, fostering strong relationships within the Board of Trustees, and ensuring accountability in our operations.

  • Guiding the charity's evolution from a volunteer-led entity to a key influencer in shaping the UK's workplace gender equality landscape.

Who We Are Looking For

Our ideal trustee is a leader with a vision, someone who brings:

  • Experience in (either of):

  • Finance / legal

  • Marketing / PR

  • A commitment to gender equality and a desire to drive change.

  • The ability to commit an average of four hours per week, including attending meetings (both virtual and, when feasible, in London) and participating in relevant conferences and events.

  • Collaborating with management to ensure financial management / marketing /PR strategy and implementation.  

  • Building strong relationships with the Board of Trustees and various committees, always prioritising the charity's best interests
